As part of the MAKE IT IN LA coalition, PARPRO recently hosted Michael Corr, Contract Manufacturing representative and Krisztina “Z” Holly, Founder & Chief Instigator of LA Mayor, Garcetti’s, MAKE IT IN LA initiative. This region-wide initiative was designed to connect and celebrate the nation’s largest community of makers. It is a coalition of organizations whose mission is to support the manufacturing ecosystem and inspire entrepreneurs to turn their passions into real products in LA.
MAKE IT IN LA recently visited PARPRO’s Santa Ana manufacturing facility, PARPRO Technologies, and got an in-depth tour of a full service contract manufacturing company in the electronic manufacturing services industry. PARPRO prides itself on being flexible and helping customers keep their costs down along with providing the innovation and technology needed for success now and in the future – all things companies need to consider when selecting a contract manufacturer.
Surprisingly, LA is the largest manufacturing center in the country. In fact, the metro area employs more than half a million people making just about anything, from packaged food to designer jeans to rocket ships and biomedical devices. The MAKE IT IN LA program is a growing coalition of manufacturing expert organizations that offer guidance aimed at identifying contract manufacturing resources, share best practices between manufacturers, and help entrepreneurs to better tap into the resources that Southern California has to offer.
“A strong manufacturing base is crucial to LA’s economy, and this economy is vital to the world.” Says Ken Haney, Executive Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing. “PARPRO supports the Coalition’s effort to drive local manufacturing and inform local businesses of the resources at their doorstep.”
